Koi

Sale price$2,500.00

44 x 54 cm

Some journeys don’t begin with certainty, but with resistance. With the feeling of moving forward while everything inside you questions the direction.
The Koi captures that quiet moment - the one where perseverance is not dramatic, but necessary, and movement itself becomes an act of faith.

She swims against the current without force, without spectacle. There is no promise of transformation here, only the decision to continue. To trust that meaning reveals itself not at the beginning of the journey, but through it.

This artwork is a reflection on endurance, inner strength, and the kind of becoming that happens long before it can be named.

Artwork Essence

THE PROCESS
The Koi was created through a steady, uninterrupted process - one that mirrored her movement through water: persistent, adaptive, and calm. Rather than forcing perfection, the work followed its natural rhythm, allowing the image to emerge gradually through repetition and care.

THE MATERIALS
More than 32,000 square resin facets were placed entirely by hand, drawn from a palette of 43 colors. This includes three special Stardust colors that subtly catch and release light as the viewing angle shifts. The process unfolded over 75 hours, demanding sustained focus and the willingness to continue even when progress felt invisible.

THE PRESENCE
She swims against the current without force, without spectacle. This piece captures the quiet moment where perseverance is not dramatic, but necessary - a reflection on endurance, inner strength, and the kind of becoming that happens long before it can be named.

THE FINISH
Framed in natural wood and sealed with non-toxic adhesive, the artwork is protected by anti-reflective glass, preserving both its physical integrity and its quiet presence. Every material choice serves the same intention - to honor a process shaped by persistence rather than speed.

From the Journal

There are times in life when moving forward feels less like ambition and more like survival. When progress is measured not by milestones, but by the simple refusal to stop - even when the path is unclear, even when the current feels stronger than your certainty.

The Koi arrived during one of those moments. Not as a symbol of triumph, but as a reminder of motion. Of continuing despite friction. Her presence carries the tension between effort and surrender - the space where transformation begins long before it becomes visible.

What she reflects is not the promise of arrival, but the truth of persistence. The understanding that becoming is not sudden, and that strength often reveals itself quietly, through consistency rather than force.

She does not rush the climb, nor does she question it. She simply swims - trusting that the journey itself is shaping what she is meant to become.

HOW THIS ARTWORK CAME TO LIFE

Handmade

Created entirely by human hands, without automation or shortcuts. Each decision emerged in response to the image as it evolved, guided by presence rather than precision.

UNINTERRUPTED TIME

Days and weeks of focused, solitary work shaped this piece. Time was allowed to unfold naturally, letting the artwork find its own rhythm without the pressure of a deadline.

Facet by Facet

Thousands of resin facets were placed individually, one by one. A complex spectrum of colors interacts to create depth and movement, forming the image through slow accumulation.

Undoing & Rebuilding

The composition was adjusted and reordered throughout the process to ensure alignment. Not to achieve machine-like perfection, but to restore balance and coherence to the canvas.

Human Traces

Subtle irregularities and small gaps remain visible. They are marks of presence - quiet evidence that this artwork was made, not produced.

Materials & Finish

Double-sealed with a non-toxic protective layer, framed in wood, and finished with anti-reflective glass. Prepared for long-term interior display while preserving texture, depth, and character.

MADE BY HUMAN HANDS & SOUL

This artwork was created slowly, by human hands - without automation, shortcuts, or mechanical repetition. Every facet was placed in time, through focus, patience, and presence.

Throughout the process, pauses mattered as much as movement. Moments of hesitation, adjustment, and return became part of the work itself. Subtle irregularities, softened edges, and barely visible gaps are not imperfections to be corrected, but traces of a human journey.

What is made by human hands inevitably carries something deeply personal - the tension between intention and surrender, the discipline to continue, and the humility to let go. This is where Lunarti’s spirit aligns with the philosophy of wabi-sabi: a way of seeing beauty not in flawlessness, but in authenticity, incompleteness, and presence.

The artwork holds more than resin and structure. It holds hours of stillness, strain in the eyes, patience in the body, and the emotional weight of releasing control. Each irregularity becomes a record of presence, a reminder that what is made by human hands will always reflect the person behind it.

Just as we are shaped by what we endure, this piece is shaped by its making. It stands in its authenticity - honoring the idea that we do not need to be perfect to be whole.
